为了解决在Eichhorn乘法扰动模型中存在的项目无回答问题,对敏感变量总体均值在辅助变量总体均值已知与未知条件下提出了比率插补方法.理论比较和数值模拟得出的结果表明提出的插补方法比传统的方法效率更高.     

基于在线HHT和SVM的汽油机轻微漏气故障识别方法

针对汽油机轻微漏气故障会被闭环反馈控制所掩盖,提出了一种基于在线希尔伯特变换(Hilbert-Huang Transform,HHT)和支持向量机(Support vector machine,SVM)的两阶段微小故障识别方法(Online HHT-SVM,OHS).第一阶段在嵌入式两滑动时间窗内通过HHT对发动机空燃比数据流进行在线时频分析,以实时获取空燃比发生异常的时刻;第二阶段通过SVM对异常时刻的数据流故障模式进行离线识别.根据氧传感器信号特征,对经验模态分解(Empirical mode decomposition,EMD)算法进行了改进,并从理论上进行了证明.基于两款发动机的实际运行数据验证了该方法的有效性.     

Characterization of high‐aspect‐ratio periodic structures by X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy

X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is a powerful surface characterization technique often relied on for quantification of surface species and coverages. Investigation of silicon microrods, considered a model for high‐aspect‐ratio structures, at different angles with respect to substrate normal was determined to have a significant impact on the relative sensitivity of surface‐bound species on rods relative to the base substrate. Comparison between planar silicon and microrod arrays demonstrates that the angular dependence is complicated and that careful studies must optimize conditions to differentiate between surfaces. In addition, the use of reverse angle resolved XPS, where the substrate is turned away from the X‐ray source, is shown to assist in simplifying the spectrum by removing underlying signal from the substrate near the base. Polyvalent 2D Entry Inhibitors for Pseudorabies and African Swine Fever Virus

African swine fever virus (ASFV) is one of the most dangerous viruses for pigs and is endemic in Africa but recently also spread into the Russian Federation and the Eastern border of the EU. So far there is no vaccine or antiviral drug available to curtail the infection. Thus, control strategies based on novel inhibitors are urgently needed. Another highly relevant virus infection in pigs is Aujeszky's disease caused by the alphaherpesvirus pseudorabies virus (PrV). This article reports the synthesis and biological evaluation of novel extracellular matrix‐inspired entry inhibitors based on polyglycerol sulfate‐functionalized graphene sheets. The developed 2D architectures bind enveloped viruses during the adhesion process and thereby exhibit strong inhibitory effects, which are equal or better than the common standards enrofloxacin and heparin as demonstrated for ASFV and PrV. Overall, the developed polyvalent 2D entry inhibitors are nontoxic and efficient nanoarchitectures, which interact with various types of enveloped viruses. Therefore they prevent viral adhesion to the host cell and especially target viruses that rely on a heparan sulfate‐dependent cell entry mechanism.

     

Symmetry and the golden ratio in the analysis of a regular pentagon

The regular pentagon had a symbolic meaning in the Pythagorean and Platonic philosophies and a subsequent important role in Western thought, appearing also in arts and architecture. A property of regular pentagons, which was probably discovered by the Pythagoreans, is that the ratio between the diagonal and the side of these pentagons is equal to the golden ratio. Here, we will study some relations existing between a regular pentagon and this ratio. First, we will focus on the group of fivefold rotational symmetry, to find the position in the complex plane of the vertices of this geometric figure. Then, we will propose an analytic method to solve the same problem based on the Cartesian coordinates, a method where we find the golden ratio without any specific geometric consideration. This study shows a comparison of the use of complex numbers, symmetries and analytic methods, applied to a subject which can be interesting for general education in mathematics. In fact, the proposed approach can convey and link several concepts, requiring only a general pre-college education, showing at the same time the richness that mathematics can offer in solving geometric problems.     

Armendariz group rings

For a torsion or torsion-free group G and a field F, we characterize the group algebra FG that is Armendariz. Armendariz property for a group ring over a general ring R is also studied and related to those of Abelian group rings and the quaternion ring over R.     

Stability and Neimark–Sacker bifurcation of a ratio‐dependence predator–prey model

In this paper, stability and bifurcation of a two‐dimensional ratio‐dependence predator–prey model has been studied in the close first quadrant . It is proved that the model undergoes a period‐doubling bifurcation in a small neighborhood of a boundary equilibrium and moreover, Neimark–Sacker bifurcation occurs at a unique positive equilibrium. We study the Neimark–Sacker bifurcation at unique positive equilibrium by choosing b as a bifurcation parameter. Some numerical simulations are presented to illustrate theocratical results. Indefinite integrals involving complete elliptic integrals of the third kind

A method developed recently for obtaining indefinite integrals of functions obeying inhomogeneous second-order linear differential equations has been applied to obtain integrals with respect to the modulus of the complete elliptic integral of the third kind. A formula is derived which gives an integral involving the complete integral of the third kind for every known integral for the complete elliptic integral of the second kind. The formula requires only differentiation and can therefore be applied for any such integral, and it is applied here to almost all such integrals given in the literature. Some additional integrals are derived using the recurrence relations for the complete elliptic integrals. This gives a total of 27 integrals for the complete integral of the third kind, including the single integral given in the literature. Some typographical errors in a previous related paper are corrected.     

Sharper asset ranking from total drawdown durations

The total duration of drawdowns is shown to provide a moment-free, unbiased, efficient and robust estimator of Sharpe ratios both for Gaussian and heavy-tailed price returns. We then use this quantity to infer an analytic expression of the bias of moment-based Sharpe ratio estimators as a function of the return distribution tail exponent. The heterogeneity of tail exponents at any given time among assets implies that our new method yields significantly different asset rankings than those of moment-based methods, especially in periods large volatility. This is fully confirmed by using 20 years of historical data on 3449 liquid US equities.
